This project involved the full interior renovation of a 1600 s.f. 2 bedroom apartment in a landmarked pre-war co-op in New York City’s Upper West Side. The renovation design fully opened up the interior of the apartment, and developed a system of millwork to run throughout the interior to function as kitchen cabinetry, wall paneling, a library system, and media storage. The original pre-war detailed ceiling crown was maintained and replicated as necessary to define the rooms and conceal ductwork for a new central air conditioning system. The library includes a concealed murphy bed and hidden sliding millwork panels which close off this area for use as a second bedroom.
