Brooklyn Rowhouse

RESTORATION
CLINTON HILL, NEW YORK

Research performed at the Brooklyn Historic Society revealed that this 12 foot wide rowhouse, located just outside of Clinton Hill’s historic district, was originally built in 1883 as a single family residence. It was changed to a boarding house in 1901, and converted back to a single family residence in 1935.

Our task was to renovate the home into a 2 family, with an owner’s triplex and garden rental. The scope of work required a full renovation of the building, including the mechanical, plumbing and interior structural systems. Additionally, a deck and backyard renovation were performed.

One of the best features of this project was developing the connectivity of the interior stairwell and organizing the building around it, with the space vertically transitioning from public to private.
